Introduction to IMS 5G

IMS 5G is a service that enables access, roaming and interworking between different network architectures (e.g. cellular, wireless LAN and satellite). IMS 5G provides the services required for seamless multimedia communications and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) M2M / IoT capabilities in a single architecture. IMS 5G is a set of protocols and standards defined by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to support the mission of video, data, voice and IoT services on 5G networks. Ims 5g service will be the next generation of the internet. It will offer ultra-high speeds, greater capacity, and better coverage in more places than 4G LTE. Ims 5g services will offer even more mobility for all its users. The IMS is a communications protocol developed in the 3GPP to enable users to interact with applications over IP based networks. IMS 5G is an integrated service framework that builds on the strength of 3GPP and builds upon the IMS specifications. It provides a common platform for data and content services, session management, mobile applications, and social networking. At its core is IMS FastConnect for real-time multimedia delivery.

IMS network

IMS 5G represents the convergence of IMS with the mobility features of 5G, together providing an end-to-end data plane. The IMS 5G solution enables operators to take advantage of their existing investments in 3GPP and non-3GPP networks and services, while also allowing them to start enriching their customer experience with new applications coming out of the evolution in 3GPP platforms. 5G is the latest generation of cellular communications systems. 5G is not just an incremental improvement over 4G (known as 4G LTE). Rather it represents a leapfrog in technology, providing significantly higher data rates and much lower latency than previous mobile networks, while making more efficient use of network resources. IMS 5G is the next stage in mobile communication systems. It is based on LTE, adding new functionalities like increased capacity and range to enable mobile broadband as well as IoT services over 4G and 5G. The IMS 5G specification will be used for supporting an Evolution alongside the 3GPP 5G NR specification. It will consist of a core set of services and functionalities that are common to both networks and are specifically designed to take advantage of the unique capabilities brought by new technologies like cloud computing, virtualization, network slicing and SDN/NFV. The IMS 5G Core network software provides IMS with a globally-interoperable, flexible and open technology platform. Designed to allow operators to migrate and scale networks quickly, it gives you greater flexibility and control over the services you offer, including advanced voice and video applications. IMS 5G is a high-performance system supporting real-time communication and transmission of large volumes of data. The IMS 5G has a flexible architecture, which allows carriers to quickly deploy new services, as well as changes to existing ones. IMS 5G extends the IMS architecture from 4G to enable RANs, mobile networks and devices to support a variety of new services at significantly higher data rates and lower latency.
