Introduction to cognitive radio 5G

Cognitive radio 5G is a technology that enables the dynamic, efficient and secure use of the shared spectrum. It allows sharing of unlicensed spectrum in a way that can seamlessly support different kinds of users without interference. Each user who installs a cognitive radio will monitor the shared spectrum and detect other transmissions in order to avoid any disruption. Cognitive Radio 5G represents the next generation of wireless communications, the most widespread and pervasive technology used today. Cognitive radio is a revolutionary advancement that makes use of an intelligent filtering technology to determine what technologies can be used in order to eliminate interference or improve data transfer rate. Cognitive Radio 5G (CR) is a key enabling technology for the next generation of wireless communications. In this paper, we explore the role of CR in 5G networks, and describe an architecture for an intelligent and flexible use of spectrum that includes interfaces between the CR functionality and network elements. Using this architecture, we study how to support multiple users while exploiting available spectrum resources efficiently. Advancements in cognitive radio technology has enabled this new standard for 5G. The new standard is designed to allow a large number of users to operate simultaneously within the same frequency bands. 5G standardization process is expected to deliver a high-capacity, low-latency and highly reliable mobile communication system, with key requirements such as network slicing and dynamic resource allocation. Massive deployment of cognitive radio (CR) systems has been proposed in 5G networks in order to obtain such features. Moreover, it is noteworthy that the potential benefits of CR arise from both traditional cognitive functions for spectrum access and cloud-based big data algorithms for transmission scheduling. Indeed, a software defined cr network is composed of the base station (BS) and mobile devices that are equipped with CR capabilities, wherein these devices dynamically adapt their transmission parameters based on real-time variation in channel conditions. The aim of the Cognitive Radio (CR) is to actively use the already available bandwidth as efficiently as possible. In contrast to conventional radio systems, where every user shares a given spectrum band with all other users, a CR system allows the user to use unused channels of another radio station at any time, if necessary and when no reserved channel is available. Cognitive radio is a wireless communication technology that can improve the spectrum efficiency in a wireless network by avoiding interference and increasing network capacity. By using Cognitive radio 5G, wireless devices will utilize the currently unused frequency bands without causing harm to users of primary licensed services. Cognitive Radio 5G is a novel mobile communications system that includes CR techniques. It employs the advanced radios so as to efficiently utilize the spectrum. Cognitive Radio technology will be used to increase spectrum utilization, improve power efficiency and maximize overall efficiency of data throughput in 5G environment.
