Introduction to 5G Open Source
5G open source is a new radio standard for 5G networks in the 2020s. 5G open source combines the best of 3GPP, Open Source and Industry Collaboration to accelerate the commercialization of 5G networks. 5G open source is a decentralized interoperable ecosystem where all agents (SDN controller, virtualized cloud infrastructure, and network functions) work together in an optimized way. The 5G open source provides a selection of pre-defined libraries and APIs that are intended to help partners and participants start building solutions on top of 5G. The Open Source includes samples for use on mobile devices and servers, tools for development, and reference server implementations. This project is intended as a basis for standardization bodies, wireless operators, equipment manufacturers, app developers and other interested parties to build upon. 5G open source is a standardization initiative created to accelerate development of 5G technology by combining all different open source platforms. The aim is to create a unified platform where applications can be built, deployed and tested across different open source 5G platforms. The 5G open source is the 5G system architecture that meets the needs of all stakeholders in a unified approach: network operators, mobile device manufacturers, application developers and more. 5G open source is a set of software products and tools developed by Infratel and its partners to support the development of 5G mobile networks. The suite is made up of a number of components (SDN controller, Packet Control Framework, Network Management Software, Vo WLAN Controller) which can be used independently or together to create full control plane on a 5G network. 5G open source is the name of an initiative to develop the technologies required to make 5G wireless networks. It is a collaboration among many different companies and public institutions, organized and managed by The Linux Foundation. Open source is sound and innovative. 5G Open Source is a big data service platform, which has the characteristics of elastic scale, real-time processing and quick response. It can achieve fast data collection and real-time operation by integrating multiple sources of data. 5G Open Source is an initiative to accelerate the development of 5G in all its layers, including hardware, software and network specifications. As part of this initiative, our industry is collaborating on an open-source project around a specification-level reference platform that can be used as a base for test tools, simulations and experiments. 5G open source is an open source project that provides a reference design to facilitate the development of 5G communication networks. The 5G open source will help facilitate the commercial deployment of LTE-5G. 5G Open Source includes the 5G NR physical layer and main control plane, with a Linux base operating system, multi-layer virtualized software architecture, and open source APIs for testing hardware and software from different vendors. The project uses advanced concepts such as Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Radio (SDR), cloud-RAN and Internet of Things (IoT) to create an intelligent RAN solution with greater flexibility and agility. 5G is expected to enable a wide range of new applications and services. However, 5G implementation is cost prohibitive for many organizations and individuals. To address this need, we at Open Root have created 5GinHand – an open source toolbox that allows you to build a 5G access point based off the latest mobile broadband technologies and architectures (e.g., 3rd generation (3G) LTE, 4th generation (4G) LTE-A, 5th generation (5G) NR).
